Caleo, Negroamaro del Salento 2022

Located in the heel of Italy's boot in Salento, the sun-kissed vineyards of Caleo can trace their winemaking origins back as far as the 6th century. And in that time they've perfected what southern Italy does best: big, bold red wines. Made using 100% Negroamaro grapes, it is inky purple in the glass with a nose of blackberry and smoke. The palate is deliciously smooth and savoury, with heaps of sweet black fruit flavours accompanied with well-integrated tannins. A velvety, informal red which is a real crowd-pleaser at BBQs or paired with cheese.
